Kexgill has swept the boards in this year’s UK student accommodation awards, putting itself among the UK’s most successful private student accommodation providers.
Kexgill Group, based at Hull and with nine branches throughout the UK, has won no fewer than 21 prestigious honours, including Student Landlord of the Year.
Established in 1978, Kexgill has become one of the largest student accommodation provider in the country.
Among its 2015 honours are Student Landord of the Year at Leeds, Durham, Liverpool (for the third consecutive year), Teesside and the North East (covering Newcastle, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Durham and Stockton) and Hall of residence of the Year in Preston (UCLAN).
Managing director Richard Stott said the awards were recognition for the ambition and hard work shown by the company and its staff of 50. He added: “Our strength lies in our ethos of providing only top class accommodation and student care and it is important to note that these awards are given by the student themselves.
“We don’t just provide beds. Far from it. We have based our business on care and consideration for all our students, offering them a very different type of security blanket. Some providers focus on swimming pools, gyms and free i-Pads but we concentrate on being a good landlord, looking after repairs, security, supporting our students when they encounter financial problems and even acting as a mediator when they fall out with their housemates.
In addition to its nine UK branches, Kexgill also has 430 non-student apartments in Germany and sees its future growth as UK and European-wide.
Richard said: “2015 has been a remarkable year for our company. It has provided us with a terrific platform from which to launch our five-year plan, which we hope to do later in the summer.”
